Temple, New Hampshire  Birthplace of Daniel Pratt July 20th, 1799

1815 - Daniel at the age of 16, apprenticed to John Putnam, architect and friend of the family, in order to learn the building       trade.

1817 - Daniel's Mother became ill and was nursed for several months by Daniel. She died December 8, 1817.

1819 - Daniel sailed to Savannah, Georgia, with hope of raising enough money to pay off Mr. Putnam's mortgage.

The New Hampshire birthplace, of Daniel Pratt is still in use as a family residence. (I Think)

House Print and Daniel Print From: The History of Temple New Hampshire 1768-1796. by Henry Ames Blood. Boston: Printed by Geo. C. Rand and Avery. 1860. The Book was signed by Daniel Pratt. This History Book Of Temple is located at the University Of Alabama Archives. The book was probably a gift to the school or to friends of Daniel Pratt. Daniel Later gave the school Paintings of Daniel Webster and Henry Clay, painted by George Cooke. George Cooke, a famous early American painter is buried in the Pratt Cemetery in Prattville.

Pratt House is hand colored. The original is black and white.
